Sort™ Brings Automation and Cost Reduction to COOP’s Pallets Sorting Operations
COOP has successfully introduced Solwr’s innovative Sort™ robot into one of their largest warehouses. The manual and repetitive sorting of pallets required a large number of employees.Driven largely by an expected increase in pallet volume, COOP introduced Solwr’s innovative Sort™ robot to streamline its manual and repetitivepallet sorting operations.
“I’m very happy. I’m very satisfied with the stability and consistency of the machine.” -Bekim Emini Automation Project Manager at COOP
The process of integrating Sort™ involved thorough planning with lots of collaboration for this specific warehouse. Endre, Solwr’s Chief Delivery Officer, noted that the project required adjustments to the solution, leading to the development of Solwr’s most complex system to date — Sort™ Double with two sorting robots working in conjunction for the first time.
Since its introduction, Sort™ Double has already made a noticeable impact on COOP’s operations. Able to sort close to 600 pallets an hour, the robot handles both plastic and wooden pallets with a high degree of consistency. According to Endre, the robot’s compact footprint and scalability have been crucial to meeting COOP’s needs, taking up no more space than manual operations. In addition, the system has freed employees to focus on other valuable areas, with plans to further optimize workflows as operations fully stabilize.
With the successful installation of thefirst Sort™ dual robots, Solwr gained valuable insights and feels confident that more customers will want a similar solution. COOP’s successful adoption of Sort™ has spurred interest from other warehouses, and both companies are optimistic about expanding the use of Sort™.
With Sort™, COOP has taken a major step forward in streamlining its operations, reducing costs, and paving the way for future automation across its network.
