The Transparency Act
We commit to respecting all internationally recognized human rights according to the UN's Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We emphasize sustainable practices that consider people, the environment, and society. The Norwegian Transparency Act, effective from July 1, 2022, aims to prevent human rights violations and poor working conditions. We have conducted due diligence assessments based on OECD guidelines, establishing new practices for evaluating current and new suppliers. Solwr, comprising three entities (Solwr Group AS, Solwr Software AS and Solwr Robotics AS), adheres to sustainable and ethical business practices across all units, despite only Solwr Software AS being classified as a "larger company" under the law. Our goal is to deliver scalable, sustainable, and integrable logistics technology solutions while balancing people, the planet, and profit.
Transparency in the supply chain is a priority. We collaborate exclusively with authorized dealers to ensure quality and decent working conditions. Working systematically with the supply-chain, we have as of June 2024, evaluated 234 suppliers and subcontractors, identifying no negative consequences in our investigation. We expect suppliers to adhere to our ethical guidelines and international human rights principles, and we have established procedures for addressing violations.
Solwr's board has formulated steps to handle ethical breaches: notification, dialogue, and termination. Continuous development with suppliers, employees, and customers is crucial for improving practices. The company values lawful, ethical, and transparent operations, guided by various legal frameworks, including labor laws, procurement standards, and data protection regulations.
Our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) approach at focuses on environmentally sustainable practices, social responsibility, and business ethics. We aim to be an attractive workplace promoting physical activity, diversity, initiative, openness, responsibility, loyalty, adaptability, and independence. We expect our suppliers and business partners to respect human rights and provide good working conditions. In terms of governance, we foster a culture of honesty and accountability, emphasizing ethical business conduct and compliance with legal and company policies. Leaders and managers are expected to uphold company values, lead by example, and create an open environment for reporting concerns.
Since our work started with the Transparency Act requirements in 2022, we have worked systematically on involving employees in sustainability, accounting, procurement, supply chain, and HR for effective collaboration. Training on ethical guidelines and policies is part of the onboarding process for new employees.
For reporting issues, Solwr has established guidelines and tools for internal and external whistleblowing. The company conducts due diligence to identify and prevent human rights violations and poor working conditions in its supply chain. Despite finding no concrete violations, Solwr continues to monitor and evaluate potential risks, especially concerning suppliers from high-risk countries. Solwr has implemented measures to approve suppliers, limit the number of suppliers, prioritize those with controlled production chains, and strengthen long-term partnerships. This approach aims to minimize risks and improve control over the supply chain.
Our ongoing efforts include monthly status meetings to review progress and ensure compliance with the Transparency Act, with updates published on their website if negative issues are discovered. We remain committed to making responsible decisions in its growth journey, aligning with its ambition and sustainability goals.
We have separated the statements into two examples because of the different board members in Solwr Robotics and Solwr Software/Group.
